Native Forest Canopy at Remanso Sur

The forest canopy at Remanso Sur features emblematic Valdivian tree giants: Coihue (Nothofagus dombeyi), living up to 500 years and soaring 45 meters tall; the breathtaking Arrayán (Luma apiculata) with its silky, cinnamon-colored bark and cool touch; the majestic Ulmo (Eucryphia cordifolia), whose abundant summer white blossoms produce world-renowned organic antibacterial honey; and vibrant Notro trees that ignite the spring landscape with crimson blossoms.

Forest Hydrology and Perennial Springs

The dense native forest acts as a natural biological sponge. Rainwater is caught by the multi-layered canopy and filtered through centuries of organic moss and loam before emerging as a crystalline natural spring at the higher elevation of Remanso Sur. Even during peak dry summer weeks, the spring flows steadily with pristine, laboratory-certified drinking water free of contaminants.

Conservation Value
